Yania is an Afro-Boricua poet, writer, and suicide prevention SME. She is a Cantomundo fellow and Associate Editor at Frontier. Her poetry and essays have been published in various literary journals including Bacopa Literary Review and River River. She was invited to read at the 2019 NYC Poetry Festival, and is currently writing her first novel. She lives in Connecticut with a grumpy cat and a grouchy dog.
